Imagine a picturesque small Vermont town, with graceful white wooden Colonial buildings gathered around a village green. There’s the church, the town hall, the library, an inn and a general store … and, of course, a few sophisticatedly jumbled antique stores. The green is peaceful and dotted with inviting trees, and maybe a fountain or gazebo.

My friends, you’ve just daydreamed yourself into the heart of Newfane, Vermont. For a delightful little diversion in the middle of your hectic day, I invite you to take a Google Streetview stroll around this sweet little village.

(Outside of the main roads now being paved, it hasn’t changed much since its cameo in the 1960s sitcom “Route 66” (a show about roadtripping all over the US, not just the mother road).

Ready to roadtrip to Newfane for yourself? Grab your Route 30 Collective guide and hit the road! If you make a sitcom about it, please be sure to let us know.

(Don’t forget to stop in at the legendary Newfane Flea – Vermont’s oldest flea market!)
