Thinking about moving for a banking career in Vermont? The local paper profiled a former Florida resident who did just that!
John Blake has joined Brattleboro Savings & Loan as the new vice president and regional retail manager. Blake comes from a long background in banking in the Northeast. He will be working to grow the local bank’s capabilities for customers as well as making sure that customers have a seamless experience across our branches and digital platforms, according to a news release from the bank.
Blake spent a good deal of his banking career working with Ridgewood Savings Bank, which, like BS&L, is also a mutual savings bank. Most recently, he was the vice president of bank administration, where he worked on the operations side of the organization. Prior to that, he grew his experience on the retail side of banking as the regional manager for 10 of Ridgewood’s branches.
Just before coming to BS&L, Blake had been in Florida taking care of family. When that chapter had come to a close, he was looking to get back into banking in a place that suited him better. “Even while I was based in New York, I had been coming up to Vermont for over 20 years, visiting Richmond almost yearly,” says Blake.
